Cannot 'see' forum anymore..!!

HI,

I run a simple forum for coaches to post team lists, news, etc....It is now gone!!! Honest, I have done nothing...it just works....My knowledge of forum maintence is 'limited'....the link is http://www.carrickfergusrfc.co.uk/forum

I checked the files via ftp prog...and they are all there...has the index.php file got corrupted? If so how do I fix it?

Any other ideas/suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Yup. It appears to be just your index. I can pull up the other pages just fine. Have you been modding your index at all?

I did get a message from hosting site web-mania saying that they have upgraded to version 5.2.8 of php, but spoke to them and they said this would have no effect..

Any ideas please ???

You would need to see the server logs to see what is happening.
I do not know what makes you index.php special. Normally, if viewforum works, then the index should work too.

Where do you 'see' them?

i have managed to get into and admin panel which is in /adm/index and see 'Server Configuration', but don't know what I am looking for, or even how to fix the problem.

Can I upload another index, if so how?

You would upload the same way you uploaded the files when you installed phpBB.

The server logs are not in phpbb, they are on your website somewhere.

Can't find them. Even if I did, I suspect that I wouldn't understand them....

Without seeing the error message, it is tough to diagnose.

Please DON'T go trying random things, you could destroy good data with bad.
You host must provide some sort of toolbox for controlling your website. Look in there to see if there is an option to view log files.

Hhmm....too late!

I needed this forum up quickly to allow coaches to post for this Saturday...tried a restore, didn't work. Tried an update to v 3.02, now site is even worse !!!

Aarrgh!! I manage site/forum for free!!!...it's not worth it when problems are like this, I do not need the hassle....ggrrrr!!

Anyway, now forum appears totally 'wrecked'

I just need a fix....I did nothing before all this happened...The forum is tied down to just 3 posters ('suppose its not really a forum in the truest sense, but it did the job)

Can anyone please let me know how to fix this easily???

(a full install of v 3.04??? If so, would that keep my member restrictions (I had to work hard to get these right, and don't know how to do it again easily )
