another relative path question, please!?

Post by reybie »

I'm upgrading a 2.0.x server to the phpBB3. The installation has gone well except I'm stuck at the conversion process, specifically the "relative path" for the old board.

Old board file structure is as follows on a Plesk server.

forums.domain.com
directory structure is...
domain.com/subdomains/forums/httpdocs/

I installed phpBB3 in forums2.domain.com
directory structure is...
domain.com/subdomains/forums2/httpdocs/

I've tried the following relative paths (and it's driving me nuts!)
../../forums/httpdocs
../../../forums/httpdocs

I doubt you are allowed to navigate up beyond the httpdocs folder.

Oh man, do you think this is a Plesk limitation?

forums.domain.com and forums2.domain.com are NOT the same domain, so as Brf noted, you can't do this.
For the convertor to work, the two boards must be on the SAME domain.
Just install phpBB3 into a folder in forums.domain.com. It is easy to move it to the root when you are finished.
