Installation of 3.0.4 release software

Hi all,
I am new to using phpbb forum software(4 days) and I must say it is excellent. I am currently using the 2.x release of which I am aware no further support is available. I was wondering if it is ok to continue using this or are there security issues that I should be worried about, as I have read here that hacking is a real probability.

I have downloaded 3.0.4 release software so maybe I should be installing that,

I would not now start with v2 - it may not be a security risk yet - but in all probablity it will some day, and we will NOT be fixing it.

If you read though this file docs/INSTALL.html it should explain how to update!

Upload all the files, fill in the boxes on the installation page.
