Hi all, I just couldn't help but smile because of the hook system of phpBB, what do you guys think??

There are only four hook locations. It's not as fancy as you think.

The hook system allows applicaton and mod developers to hook into phpBB's or their own functions
so in short its for making it possible to hook your cms or other web application into phpBB and maybe vice versa

Correct. It’s not going to be that useful for MODs. -- maybe a HUGE MOD, but otherwise, it’s mainly for the webapps and your own site.

It allows you to modify functions in phpBB3 without actually touching them. -- you can register a hook in a separate file and change the output of the phpBB3 function that is hookable.
