Copy Error when installing EasyMOD (step 2 of 5)

Post by roblines »

I'm installing EasyMOD.

It's copied across to my server the install php runs fine I get lots of confirmation messages. The scan stage tells me everything except root is fine.

Step 2 of 5: EasyMOD is now confirming your file access settings

Write access method is confirmed

Copy Error: You do not have copy access: Method cannot be used.

The help file gives the impression that this is just a warning and can be ignored, but the installation script won't go past this and when I log into the admin panel of my forum I don't get the 'load mod' option anywhere.

What can I do to move past this? Please - someone help me.

1/ It seems that your EasyMOD file permissions aren't correct (644 for files and 755 for folders).
Try checking that.

2/ Are you, by any chance, with awardspace.com?

Well then check that the EasyMOD files and folders have the correct permissions (CHMOD 644 for files, and CHMOD 755 for folders).
