Reset Statistics - Is that really the best place?

Post by wintermute »

Hello all,

This is not a feature request, but I just want to express something which bugs me since some time. This is more of an aesthetics issue.

Do you all think the current position of "Resynchronise or reset statistics" box on the ACP main page is the best one? Myself, I do not think so. I think that box crowds the informative screen for admins and uses some good visibility space for some rarely used functions. In my opinion, all that functions belong to MAINTENANCE category. The boxes below the mentioned box are far more important to an admin.

I know I can do some sort of a mod to re-arrange the main ACP page to my taste, but I'd prefer an official fix or update, as I think what I suggest may be beneficial for all admins.

Just my 2 cents... Regards, Wintermute

Methinks that's a good point. :D

Not a feature request, more of a „bug report“ in the sense that it bugs me, too… ;)

It is more than possible :) But you won't give anything for it...

I don't think it's against anything, it's next to the statistics, having a direct relation in between...
Please think before you post.

Same for me. Some more stats about what is happening on the forum right now would be more useful.

Well, I submitted my ticket and got the expected "not a bug" as a reply, and the ticket is closed. :( I'm disappointed, I was expecting the devs to at least listen what I suggest. Now, either I'll try to modify my ACP myself and move that box to another page, or I'll submit a mod request for that.

Many thanks, Wintermute

It should be moved to maintenance section.. It's too easy to hit on accident :)

bbrian017, you have to confirm any of those options to execute them :-)

btw. i would maybe agree with the date and stat eset buttons, but the purge cache button is very useful for me on the index..

I agree with wintermute,

9 times out of ten if I am going to the ACP, it is User or Membergroup related. I dont have to reset my board every day, but I have to change or look up users/members everyday.

I think its better if you can lay-out the ´start page` of the ACP by your own needs. Wouldnt be so hard to change the code (I guess)
