When I was translating the language package to Chinese, I found a function named "bump topic". I think I didn't meet it in phpBB2.
Is there anybody can tell me what dose it mean? Like pushing it?
What dose "bump topic" mean?

Basically what bumping is, is pushing that topic to the top of the topics list.

A little message appears on the last post when a topic was bumped:
Topic was bumped x times by _____ on __________
You can set the bump time in the ACP... for example, it's pretty average to have a topic non-bumpable until after 10 days have passed since there was a reply posted to the topic.
Bumping is usually a preferred method to double-posting especially if there was an unanswered question.
Re: What dose "bump topic" mean?
i have just bumped a topic on phpbb3B5 and i didnt see any notice that it was bumped how many times and by whom.. is this a bug?
Re: What dose "bump topic" mean?
Works fine for me. I just tried it on my test board and it says it has been bumped by me at the bottom of the very last post in the thread.

Re: What dose "bump topic" mean?
nope mine doesn't say that. it just bump the topic than thats it. nothing out of the ordinary happens. is there an option in the acp that could possibly disable that?

Re: What dose "bump topic" mean?
Hmmm. I tested this out myself and observed something. If I bump a topic that I started, then it will show that I bumped it. If I bump a topic that someone else started, it does not show that I bumped it.
A bug?
