Upgrading to B4 won't help you much either as there is certainly no guaranteed upgrade from the betas to the RC versions either.

You should cut your losses now. The beta download page mentions at least twice that you should not use it live.

Install phpBB2, run that until RC1 comes out along with the official upgrade script. The longer you leave it, the more posts and users you're going to lose.

The topics on not using the Betas in a live environment were repeated a zillion times to the community. The "I didn't know" defense won't grant you additional support. It's how it is, and won't change.

On that note, it's possible that someone out there in internet land built a beta 2 upgrade path. I wish you the best of luck with it if you do find it exists.

People whom don't know how to work with MySQL and PHP should not be messing around with betas and CVS. For much the same reason why kids don't have access to guns. Consider this a lesson and quit crying over spilt milk.
