Till,

You are using a CVS release of code. The code is not yet ready for live/production use. When the code is ready you will be able to get it as part of the phpBB package.

Comments like please release a stable version are as useful as requesting an inflatable dart board.

I just demonstrated that huge 2.x boards MAYBE need more than some php-web-interface-scripts.

Well, you could have checked the error log for what the error means. Usually that tells you what is wrong, and we can actually try to help you. ;)

I'm trying to do the convert, and based on the instructions it says not to overwrite any existing files.

So, I have my current forum in a ../forum/ directory on my site
I put the new files in a ../forum2/ directory

And browsed to http://www.site.com/forum2/install/index.php

What I get is:
No installation found
To perform a conversion you need to have a default installation of phpBB3. Please note that for a conversion the new installation and the old installation need to reside within the same database. You may now want to perform an installation

Did I miss something??????

you need to install a new (empty) phpbb3 board. After that you can run the conversion script to import the data from phpbb2 into the newly installed phpbb3 board

I just noticed that during a conversion I ran through as a test, the new board now has all the bots set as registered users.

I am just wondering if that's going to cause a problem with permissions........ :?:
