I think the New phpbb theme is going to be sub????. since ver 1xx was subblack and ver 2xx is subsilver. so third should be subred or subblue or something.....

can someone tell us wut it is already?

unless is submerged.but that is still a sub...

I've heard in the rumor mill that it may be called Sub-sub, Subtastick!, or Subalicious. But that's all just a rumor...

subStandard would be a bad choice :lol:

Maybe it has no meaning other than the usual meaning conferred to "sub[something]".

AFAIK, "sub" refers to subBlue, the nickname of the designer of the templates for phpBB. http://www.subblue.com/ Where he got the "sub" from and what it means for him, I don't know.
