WLM instead of MSNM?

Postby stickman10 » Tue Jun 20, 2006 10:30 pm

I was wondering if Olympus will have a Windows Live Messenger profile field thing instead of a MSN Messenger profile field (since Windows Live Messenger is the name of the newest version)?

hmm.. interesting point actually.. personally I feel the field should be changed to make the software as futureproof as possible.. AS 3.x line will be around for more than just a number of years and I am guessing MSNM will be phased out within a number of years..

MSN Messenger in phpBB now stands for "Microsoft's New Messenger" when referring to users of MSNM8; and "Microsoft Network Messenger", for those still on MSNM7.5 or less. Razz

I guess someone could just modify it themselves if its that big of a deal or they could just add a new profile field for WLM.

Just use the language file editor in the admin panel Mr. Green

Laughing

I agree with previous posts, the language strings should be changed to 'Windows Live Messenger' (or WLM for short strings) Smile

I'd like to pull this up again, I think we should review this for 3.0.8 or at least 3.1.0

For 3.0 it would mean adjusting subsilver2's imageset. To make matters worse, that icon is localized. I'd suggest just putting it in 3.1 instead.
