I thought it was indefinatly posponed so that they could concentrate on olympus. There is still and outside chance they may come back to it...

At the moment there are no plans to resurrect this idea/project.

If mxBB works better for you in the first place, why bother migrating to phpBB?

Point still stands, MX-System isn't the only portal "add-on" to phpBB... if it's what works best, use it. Even if a "phpBB Portal" existed, people are seriously contemplating using pre-Alpha (otherwise known as "dog food") code over whatever mature portal system just on the basis "phpBB Portal" is official? Unlikely. ;)

I would! ;)  8) :P :) :D :o

Also, you need to give your crew more credit! You KNOW how the code works because you made it, and therefore you can make a better Portal than others! If you dedicate SOME time to it, it can be done and you can have quite a few happy people with phpBB's official portal system!

Also, when its finished, I hope to integrate phpBB Portal into Partly Modded phpBB. For now, we do not have a portal for it, and my friend and I are considering many things, but we prefer phpBB's own stuff!

A application that never made a release because one adds features all the time is no good.

well guys i been using the cvs for some time and updating it as you guys progress.

and its not that diffecult to intergrate at all.

first off the code uses true phpcode for the 4x and 5x branch

not the old php3 which caused so many securisty issues

there are some issues i know of now but these are not phpbb issues but more php and these bugs have been here since php3 like the html special charactors bug for example where you compromise a site.

so having the latest hppbb intergrated all depends on how you want to go about it.

well i started porting it and have a working example online now.

but i phpnuke 7.9 and made it fully phpbb3 friendly without hacking the phpbb code at all

so how was this possible

convert the users, auth, admins, sessions etc to use phpbb not the cms.

as if you use the cms you would have to hack the code so much phpbb would not support it

for some reasons

you may of opened up some security issues by removing some the there code just to make it work

best way to intergrate nuke and phpbb is dont make them intergrated module wise

but user, sessions etc is the only way without breaking the code

for example using it as a modules will cause some problems and issues

like the session management if you intergrated it you would have to wrap the users around the phpbb users and would end up causing some probelms

well i think you all get how i feel

keep phpbb as it is

dont hack it
just hack the cms :)

and keep phpbb intact

thanks

working on a cms to be intergrated with phpbb 3 without any major code changing to keep with phpbb 3 guidelines
