Writing a chat mod for phpBB3.
It currently works.
Todo: allow ignoring, chat ACP, chat MCP, translate into english =), maybe chat rooms.
P.S. Also I translated a part of langpack to Russian.
Update:
SQL-based. (I'm running MySQL, but it should work with all that phpBB3 supports...)
Current status.
Posting - 100%
Userslist - 100%
Viewing - 100%
Permissions (binary) - 100%
AJAX - 90%
Work without AJAX - 0%
Remove frames (from the AJAX variant) - 100%
IP log - 10%
Cleanup - 10%
Lang support. (translate etc) - 0%
ACP - 1%
MCP - 1%
Put it here (or somewhere) - 0%
Friends-foes thingy - 0%
Ignore - 0%

It should work ok with the release of phpBB3, because it does not change any of phpBB files (exept adding a link to it in overall_header.html).
When I will finish chat ACP, chat MCP and english translation, I will upload the MOD ...

You don't like it, you don't use it.
Anyway, it uses the template system, so it is quite easy to change things.
If you want - make something different.
Or at least if you say that this is hideous put a picture or static html showing what you wish to see.

u can ignore his comment. at least now you know that modders will always get criticism just like people criticizing that phpBB coding is not good.

You should intergrate it properly to take full advantage of phpBB3's new features.
Make it so Friend/Foe works with it. Maybe with a checkbox to ignore foes and highlight your friends and foes to make them clear.
