Access Info

Having problems installing EM? Let's fix that
Forum rules
DO NOT give out any FTP passwords to anyone! There is no reason to do so! If you need help badly enough, create a temporary FTP account that is restricted to only the files that you need help with and give the information for that. Giving out FTP information can be very dangerous!

File Access Info

these are the settings i get on reinstall its says chmod access no i changed them in the directory
and my ftp module is not loading
Let's see what you have for file access. You do not need everything to read 'ok'.

read access :: OK
write access :: OK
root path write :: OK
chmod access :: No
unlink access :: OK
mkdir access :: OK
tmp path write :: No
FTP extension :: module not loaded
Safe Mode :: OFF
copy access :: OK

This error occurs frequently when the port number is incorrect. Back on step 1 you should try changing the FTP Port from 21 to whatever port you typically use when you FTP.

At this point, did EM give you the option to RESCAN? If so, allow it to do so. Then on the next page, EM should give you the option to allow it to automatically detect the settings for you. Go with that option and see what happens...

So EM is installed but you are having trouble installing a MOD? If so, can you give me a link to the MOD so that I can check to make sure it doesn't have any problems that would prevent EM from seeing it? Also, if for some strange reason, your host doesn't allow access to txt files, then you can change the extension of the MOD filename to mod instead of txt...

If your host doesn't allow access to txt files, there was a workaround offered to correct that recently where you could modify EM to use some other file extension. EM creates a backups and processed folder for each MOD that you install. In those folders, it stores the processed and unprocessed files, but it adds a txt extension to the end of each file. That would be a problem if your host denies access to txt files. Like I said, there was a workaround to that problem. We can cross that bridge next if necessary...

I don't have access to that link. Can you copy it to a more public area and provide the exact file name in the path???

What I do is create a download section somewhere on my domain. Then I set the folder permissions to 755. I copy every file that I want people to access in that folder and then give them the complete URL, including filename. If you want to make the contents of the folder viewable to the world, you can set the permissions to 777. Make sure there is no index.html file in the folder...

Change the name from

Code: Select all

PM Notification Enhancer v1.0.1.txt
to

Code: Select all

PM_Notification_Enhancer_v1.0.1.txt
Maybe that will help.
