call me stupid (and i know u will but thats ok cos i asked for it) but what exactly are we begining and god speeding towards? whats the migration and is this a good thing or not?
Anyone kindly fill me in on whats happening and how it will effect all of us?

phpbb.com's moving from servercentral in chicago to osuosl in oregon

That's why all the support etc stuff is here, because while the server's being shipped it can't be accessed ;)

Really... Why didn't you just get a generator, stuck it in another shipping container, then a satellite dish on top, and vola... :)

You realise satellite dishes require line-of-sight don't you ;) (as well as the cost).

I somehow missed the news article on phpbb.com :S Maybe it explained this already, but for what reasons is the server moveing locations ? Cost ?

The announcement only said we were moving the server from one datacentre to another.

What is taking so long? I could swear they said it was going to be 24 hours, but it seems to have been three days now...maybe more.

The search never works for me either. anyway, one has a better chance finding what you want at phpbb.com by doing a google search.. works everytime for me anyway. :)


I say phpbb.com be online by Monday :)
