php 5.1 is currently at beta 3. I don't know all of the changes in it but I think Olympus would be able to run on 5.1.Hosting Geek wrote: it seems like php6 will be out before phpbb3 so will you support php6?

Re: php 5
PHP 6 just branched off in the last week or two...far too early to tell what effect that will have on backwards compatibility (although it doesn't look all that good). I wouldn't expect PHP6 to go gold though for at least a couple years.
PHP 5.1 on the other hand, will probably be out before Olympus, and does break one or two features from what I can tell...minor though. (so far)

Re: php 5
Jelly, I run beta 3 on my sandbox for my branch of phpBB 3. It works fine. I know for a fact that the big boys also dev mostly in php 5 because they used a php 5 only feature once. (It was Meik if I remember correctly)

Some developers expressed their wish to release PHP6 this year, but I think and hope that won't happen so you are probably correctA_Jelly_Doughnut wrote: PHP 6 just branched off in the last week or two...far too early to tell what effect that will have on backwards compatibility (although it doesn't look all that good).
