see how long it took for phpbb to release phpbb2 from phpbb1..

That would give a roug idea give or take a few months

(MABY EVEN YEARS!)
great idea!
i implemented your method, and the release date should be around november 2003.
hope it helps.

is it really that hard to find another devel that has head and sholders above the pack like the current ones?

And there are so many devels but why are only 1.5 commiting?

Takes time to learn the current style of coding and standards within 3.0. So if they trained up another developer would probably delay the release as what time the devs have on training.

this has absolutely nothing to do with, as you so eloquently put it, the location of anyone's "head and sholders".
the team's self proclaimed cto, namely psotfx, declared more than once that there is no intention to currently add any new developer, regardless of credentials and abilities.
and there are no "so many devels". there are nominally 3 and practically 0.5 (or, more precisely, <1).

"Self proclaimed" ... erm, not quite.

Hosting Geek ... please, before you post again on any topic look around first. This isn't the first time you've posted on a subject that's been discussed ad nauseum ... indeed you're really rather making a habit of it.

Thanks and time to lock this topic (sigh).
