If there is an older historical thread, and it has a high weigh value, then that thread would be moved near the top “Fluffy Bunnies” because people would have marked it as a high relevance. Not imagining if you had two threads, both the same with the same rating, the one with the most weight would probably you best chance to find what you are looking for. I hope that makes sense.
Right... I get it now

I hadn't realised that Karma could be linked into the search system in that way - now it all makes a lot more sense - although I suspect that the search part will be one of the most complicated parts... you'd want to make sure you didn't move a thread up if it had high weight, but the only matches were in low weighted posts...

To DragonlordP... if you're not interested in Karma, that's fine. I don't want the Devs to spend time on this at the moment either. However, there is a chance that it might be included in a future version (or so I've heard), and there's no harm in us discussing our theoretical concepts for how it could work. It might even save the Devs some time in the future...

To be honest, your post reminds me of the guy who signed up to a usenet newsgroup, then replied to
every single thread saying "I'm not interested in that, please don't tell me any more" - I hope you can see why that was silly

(I'm not implying you're that bad, just using an extreme example to make a point)
