phpbb 2.2 exactly like IPB?

I was a IPB admin for a loooooong time.
phpBB 3 looks NOTHING like IPB 1.3 or 2.0
Well maybe here and there like seperating anouncements and stickies and normal posts. The UCP is completely different.
The ACP is a little more complex in 3.0 but its still nothing like IPB.

Lastly, IPB does not suck.
Its just to complex for you. You get used to it.

You're using 2.1 as we speak, which is the development code for version 3.0. However, the new style for 3.0 will not be released until the GM release of 3.0.

So why do so many people seem to know what it looks like? Also if phpBB is open source, how are people to be able to add to that, if they can not view that source or even see what is already in the works?

btw, you can compare IPB and phpBB for OS? im sure phpBB will be a lot more.. open. also i recognise some phpBB coding in IPB. so that alone proves its OS.

Wait like we did for the revamp of phpbb that was announced two years ago.
