not quite...it isn't january 1st yet, and that still won't count until it's january 1st around the world...there's hope yet....mind you, the contest is all for naught anyway, we all know that a beta version won't be available for another month or so minimum

Right then. So it comes to this. Since the competition was based on info in Augest (when it was started, hence the choices), many of us had belived 2.2 to appear before the dawn of 2005. However, since real life loves to play about with release dates (See: Duke Nukem Forever), it didn't happen.

Ok, so here's how it goes. Its 3am here, 1st Jan 2005. I'm going to take some sleep. When I wake up, I'll wipe the DB, and start afresh. The full range of dates for 2005 will be there. You won't be able to select 2006 though, as per conditions of the 2004 contest. Everyone can submit a 2005 guess once, the competition is for the correct guess of the date phpBB goes Gold, not any of the RC's or betas.

I'll also add some colour to the entry page, it does look rather bland

So, sorry to all for no 2004 winner, however, good luck for the 2005 contest when it opens again (hopefully no later than about 3pm GMT).
