This is just getting ridiculous... So many people do not get the idea of "developer version" or "CVS". This surprises me because when you go to area51.phpbb.com, the lnk to this board is "Dev board"... not "post error reports board".tristram wrote:subj. {title} does not exists.

It does get a little tiresome. I do understand the occasional oopsie, but it seems a lot of people are not getting the idea for whatever reason.molotov wrote:This is just getting ridiculous...
But, eventually we'll get to genuine releases and then things will be different. Or rather, things will be the same, but it'll be okay.

I know people do like poking through the CVS, but why not just not publish it? Then people won't be able to have problems with the CVS because they don't have it.

I think having zero public access to CVS isn't real consistent with open source tradition. My guess is that the most the developers would be willing to rethink is the snapshots.

That's like Microsoft's anti-piracy techniques... it doesn't really work 100% and it's just annoying to the people who aren't doing any harm. Any n00b can download TortoiseCVS if snapshots aren't available.SamG wrote:I think having zero public access to CVS isn't real consistent with open source tradition. A lot, not most.SamG wrote:It does get a little tiresome. I do understand the occasional oopsie, but it seems a lot of people are not getting the idea for whatever reason.

It's annoying, but whatever. It takes all of what, 5 minutes to tell someone that CVS code is unsupported?
Re: http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB22/ucp.php?sid=&i=8
5 minutes per person who complains about the CVS.....and there's been alot more of those recently. that adds up, and gets tiresome for not only the devs, mods, and support team, but also for those of us who are genuinely interested in the progress being made, but have to wade through tons of posts asking for support or "reporting" "bugs".
NO PM or IM support offered!!
thank you!
thank you!
Re: http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB22/ucp.php?sid=&i=8
Hopefully that will encourage the developers to hurry up with a release
