Question about MODs

Postby Skylude » Thu Jun 09, 2011 11:29 pm

Hey everyone,

I have been working on a MOD for phpBB. It is only 2 external files and adds one table to the database. I see that in order to get your MOD's approved it has to be installed with AutoMOD, would that be the case if I wasn't modifying the phpBB code at all, just adding a few files? I want this MOD to be searchable on the MODS page so users can see and download it. Any information you can provide to help me out would be much appreciated.

Doubt it. Actually, here's not the right place to get support for MOD authors. Try modifications support forums:
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewforum.php?f=81 (general)
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewforum.php?f=71 (MOD authors)

Current MODDB policy is here: http://www.phpbb.com/mods/rules-and-pol ... b/general/

Yes, that would be the case for any phpBB MOD that wants to be approved to the MODDB. You have to use MODX anyways so if you generate your MODX file correctly there really shouldn't be any worry about AutoMOD if it's just copying files.
