Way to go hanakin :)

Next step... how about "killing" Moderation Panel, Administration Panel and Delete all board cookies?

For the first two there have already been ideas on the table. As for the "Delete all board cookies", if the devs agree that it should be killed, I'd suggest that we make a list of all occasions where we need it and use it for each occasion separately. For example, we could try to detect the problem such as a failed logout attempt and then advice the user to "Delete all board cookies".

A side note: The GMT info is in a line that appears only if debug is enabled...

I think it's weird to have the "Quick links" there... but I don't have a better suggestion.

  • Glad that Breadcrumbs have its own line... Correct about that (as a couple of other people mentioned).
  • As you mentioned, FAQ doesn't need to be there (can go in Footer or other menu as you stated).
  • I'm not going to beat a dead horse about ACP/MCP (I expressed my opinion on this a few times already).
  • I agree about Delete all board cookies. It doesn't need to be there. How often is that clicked?
I tip my hat to you hanakin. I can't count how many times you revised... Thanks for the patience ;-)

What? No love for the guy who's actually coding it? ;)

Anyway... I'll wait with updating the code until we hear from more team members.

so in order to get a better idea for spacing of all the content here is one showcasing all the merge RFCs

Constantly Updated version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q3hbo03njeau6 ... 024%29.png

Notable changes:
  1. Removed Faqs link as it belongs in one of the drop-downs probably the user one.
  2. Added my take on the tools menu in the actionbar, as I stated before this makes more sense and gives us a commonality on topics and posts
  3. Added in the quick-Mod mockup but minus the arrow as previously stated the arrow does not fit here as its sole functionality is a menu.
  4. Added mockup for the sort menu again removing the arrow for the same reason

Once again, ACP and MCP have absolutely nothing to do with the profile or the user account. They are advanced tools available to certain people who have those permissions. They are not functions of the user's account, and it makes absolutely no sense for them to be listed there.

At least a couple of phpBB devs associated with the development of Board3 portal must have thought the opposite, since ACP and MCP have always been placed at its User Menu.

Yes, they are control panels for the board/forums (i.e. not control panels for the user's account) so it doesn't feel completely right to list them there, but it isn't wrong either since they are both user's tools. Plus, normal members don't see them at all so it only comes down to how moderators and admins would feel about their placing.

In any case, isn't it much better to save all that space they occupy (even if we don't move them to an ideal place)?
