[RFC|Merged] Delete "Confirm e-mail address"

These requests for comments/change have lead to an implemented feature that has been successfully merged into the 3.1/Ascraeus branch. Everything listed in this forum will be available in phpBB 3.1.

It is removed on the latest version of develop (see? no confirm email text box). Please double check that your repository is up to date with the phpbb repository.

With the removal of the confirmation field, perhaps it would be useful to add something like this: http://blog.kicksend.com/how-we-decreas ... on-email-b
It does some simple domain spell checking for popular email hosts with JavaScript and shows a note if it thinks it's misspelled.

Here is their GitHub repository. I agree that something like this would be nice. It should probably be added with the AJAX PR, as well as other registration improvements (real-time username checking, make sure passwords are the same and are strong enough as you type them, etc.).

Anyway, +1 from me. EDIT: Though, 3.1 is feature frozen, so this would be best as an extension and then put into 3.2.

As far as I know AJAX is 'feature frozen' for 3.1.

Its nice but might be better left to an extension until 3.2?
