I have noticed on Area51 that when I am subscribed to a topic I am getting an email notification for each reply, whether I have visited the board or not. Is this intentional behavior in 3.2 or a bug as am am sure that I only used to get one message no matter how many replies there were.

My understanding of PHPBB notifications is that you would receive a notification email every time a reply is posted in a subscribed thread.

Mine has always been that you only get one notification, irrespective of the number of replies

check your notification pref settings.
* Someone replies to a topic you have bookmarked
* Someone replies to a topic to which you are subscribed

Looks to me like you'd get one for each reply, if enabled.

For email notifications I only have

Someone replies to a topic to which you are subscribed
Someone creates a topic in a forum to which you are subscribed

But as I said I am getting a notification for each reply

I get one notification mail for every reply, too.
I mean to remember it was one notification before as long until you have visited the topic again
