Question #3 -- Yes, phpBB 3.1 can be released before some 3.0.x release as they are independent. It's doubtful that it will be released before 3.0.12, though.

Question #6 -- I would add that, after a certain period of time, phpBB 3.0 development and support would probably be stopped, just like they were for phpBB 2.x after phpBB 3.0 was released.

and...

Add a question that asks when 3.1 will be released (at least the alpha version).

Agreed.

Why? The answer will be "Whenever it's released", just like every other answer about release dates. :D

People seem to keep asking that, so why not? Just have what you said as the answer ("Whenever it's released")

Don't think people will search or look for an FAQ, they will be lazy and just ask what they want to ask ;)

I want to second this question "Add a question that asks when 3.1 will be released".

We are looking to move to phpBB and at the same time would like to contribute to development. However (since we are in a corporate environment) we need to be able to tell our management at least rough expected timelines on when this can happen. Without holding anyone to a date, what is current feel around when RC might be out?

Cheers,

Alex

Hi nickvergessen,

I hope I did not offend with my question as the reply could be interpreted as sarcastic. Are you implying that RC is really far away and we should not be counting on being able to put 3.1 in production any time next year?

Thank you!
