plugins sepperation from main code

For me as Joomla! and Wordpress CMS user it is very strange to see that you have to change phpBB code to let plugins work. Is it not much easyer to have a plugins folder where all the plugins can be stored in and with a click on the button in the adminpanel install and uninstall these. And if there is a phpBB update available hope that it go work and if not search for the solution in the code. Than it is also possible to implement an update manager for the forum and the plugins. When someone use a out of date forum/plugin with to much vulnerabilities they get a big warning in the adminpanel with the possibility to update in a mouseclick.
