well, i am in favour of making/ integrating WYSISYG editor in phpBB as its provides a clean edit rather than spreaded bbcodes...

secondly for larger posts, one always have to preview to see the way post "X" will look like... anyway... a WYSISYG editor must be there...

for some people who oppose this feature, an option can be created to switch between normal mode and WYSISYG mode.

I tried that, thats not a WYSIWYG Editor or even FCKEditor. Or am i missing something?

I totally agree with the idea. For users, they don't want to remember all of the BBCode commands. Sure, they can remember some, but not all. A WYSIWYG editor would be much appreciated by the casual user.

i think its not to late for adding a wysiwyg editor to phpbb 3.1.
we have a professional MOD team for example DAVID.IQ that they can do this very good.

The WYSIWYG editor that convinced me the most so far was CKEditor. There have been discussions about integration a while ago. From what I can tell CKEditor is pluggable.

i think CKEditor is a bit heavy for phpBB.
i have seen an editor that would be very easy to integrate and outputs BBCode.

How could it be a security risk? It's almost entirely client side.
