There's a MOD for it. I don't see a need for it to be implemented into the actual software. BBCode is simple enough, Not to mention the buttons at the top.

Hi All,

I am new to this forum as I just found this WYSIWYG topic here.

Mr. Meis2M made a post on May 21, 2010,
i have something about CKeditor
its the phpbb version 3.0.1 with ckeditor.. this package is working good and i dont see any error or...
but the phpbb version & ckeditor in this package are old.. may be this package help the phpbb development to use ckeditor for phpbb 3.1.0

download this pack:
http://www.meis2m.com/upload/uploads/phpBB3.rar

I really wish to have a try the pack that works with CKEditor that he mentioned but the download link has broken. I wonder Mr. Meis2M or anyone can send me a copy for a try?

Thanks for any help,

Hunt Chang

Dear Meis2M,

Thanks for your kind reply and I have tried to view your TinyMCE demo too but sorry I do not know your language, and via the English description in your web I guess I did not quite understand what you have reached so far. Anyway I have also download your beta, will try it in next few days.

Regarding to TinyMCE & phpBB3, I believe you know one old work at http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=1179025&p=6955695#p6955695; I put the link here just in case someone would like to take a reference too.

In my case, I have choosed to go by CKeditor, my friend and I are trying to make it works with HTML directly and without bbcode translation in between. This is the reason why I am asking if you or anyone can send me the pack which you mentioned before, http://www.meis2m.com/upload/uploads/phpBB3.rar; if you do still have this pack, please send me a copy for a reference. ;)

it was incomplete and was very simple. My work is quite distinct and its for phpBB 3.0.8. I did not even use a bit code from this http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... #p6955695;.

i believe TinyMce is better than Fckeditor. ckeditor has Large volumes and Well does not work with bbcode.

Unfortunately i lost that package.

sorry for my english.

Dear Meis2M,

Thanks for your reply anyway. I just want to take a reference to gather some idea and hope it can save some of my time as well, as I am more famlier with C/C++ of personal application and just start to work with PHP and JS for the web usage in last few months.

Also do not feel sorry for your English, it is not my mother tongue either, I am a Taiwanese and speak Chinese better than my Eng.

Hello Meis2M.
Excellent you are developing a WYSIWYG application for work with phpBB forums.

I think the WYSIWYG is something that every forum should have and that the user can decide whether to use it or not, based on vBulletin forums have this option.

3.1 - not a chance
3.2 - maybe...if you create an RFC

And why would you NOT want to release your MOD for 3.0.8? I mean how do you expect to get it working correctly for everyone and that it's bug free? :?
