Implementing phpbb3 forums into my own website

Post by Vampire »

Hello there.

I recently added phpbb3 to my website, but I have a problem with users having to register twice. Once for forums, once for my own site. Now, I know I'm not the first person asking this sort of thing, since I googled about this and found more than one matching topic. But all of them sooner or later seem to link to phpbb3.com site which is down (example: LINK).

I'm still waiting for the site to get back up, but meanwhile, I figured I'd give a shot at this forum :)

So, what I wanna do is remove phpbb3 forum registration (which can be easily done in administration panel) and use my website's registration to automatically register users on forum aswell (this part I haven't figured out yet). A lot of places I looked for help suggested to do the other way around, but I want to leave my registration in tact.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Far better to use the phpbb authentication for both, as the materials you have found suggest.
