Can someone help a DUMMY

Post by krismon »

I have a php forum on a website but originally someone else was taking care of it. Now it's on me and i know NOTHING about computer language. I wondered if anyone would be willing to help me with this. My FIRST question is that RIGHT now when I go to the forum it says

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '?' in /home/.ebbywasher/sbritz/kentuckyriders.com/forum/index.php on line 466

I have NO idea WHY this happened or where to go or what to do to fix it.

Thank SO Much in advance for anyone that is willing to speak slowly to help me out!!!

That is pretty strange, considering index.php has only 136 lines.

Please fill out as much of the "Support Request Template" as you can to tell us about your board.

Gosh, I feel like a fool... I don't even know where to find out this info since I can't even get to the forum right now :( I know NOTHING about it. I use PageBreeze HTML Editor to mess with our site and when I log on to that I don't know how to get to the forum, not sure if I even SHOULD be able to get to it from there. Ugggg... I feel rediculous here. I am so sorry to be begging for help here, I just wasn't sure where else to go. Thanks again for any help!

The following is the basic SRT
Your board's URL: http://www.kentuckyriders.com/forum/
Version of phpBB3:
Was this a fresh install or a(n) update/upgrade/conversion (please be specific)?
If update, what package(s) did you use? ?
Did you use an automated wizard provided by your host to install phpBB?
MODs you have installed: ?
When the problem started: Today
Your level of expertise (be honest): NONE

Additionally, you may wish to provide the following (where applicable)
Template(s) used:
Language(s) used:
Version of PHP used:
Database and version used:
Test account*:

*A test account (username/password) may be helpful if team members need to view a page hidden to guests.

Do NOT use Pagebreeze to access your forum files.

Use an FTP program to access your web server. If you don't have one, then read: Knowledge Base - Tools needed to set up and customise phpBB

If you don't know your FTP details, then the web host company should be able to tell you.

Use the FTP program to download a copy of your index.php file from the folder named "forum" on your board, then post the contents of that file here between "code" tags.
(It is just a text file, so you can open it with Notepad or Wordpad.)

You have a phpBB2 forum, not phpBB3.
You should restore the backup you made of index.php before you tried to edit it.
