Approval for first post?
I am having a problem with some spammers here recently on my board (pbpBB 3.0.1), I don't *think* its spambots, I think it is actual people registering and then posting spam. Is there a way to set it such that a new user (ie someone with zero posts) has to have their first post approved by an admin or mod? Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!

Re: Approval for first post?
Yes.
It's built in to 3.0.4 in the post settings.
If you update (which you should do anyway) you'll automatically get that option.

Admin_newby: Post Settings is one of the links you should see when you log into your phpBB Administration Control Panel (link in the board footer).
In order to help you update, first check that your board is out of date. Check the "Maintenence" Tab in the Administration Control Panel to see what version you currently have installed. Also let us whether you have installed any MODifications or Styles.

Well Jelly thanks.....but
I seem to have a version from the Jurassic Period. There is no Maintenance Tab in the entire ACP.
And.......below those little words....Go To Administration Panel is
yada yada.... 100% Free Forum. Powered by phpBB 2
Let me guess that might be Version 2 ?

Re: Approval for first post?
Yes phpBB2 does not have that.
Also as you're on a free forum host you would not be able to add that feature either.
It should also be noted that support for phpBB2 ended on January 1st 2009. Your free hosts are entitled to stay on 2x but there will not be any more updates for it.
