what is the best chat room to integrate with phpBB?

In your opinion, what is the best chat room to integrate with phpBB?

The old incarnation of my forum used some sort of Java-based chat, which I personally didn't care for. (Java and my voice recognition program do NOT work and play well together.) So when I moved my forum, I installed X7 Chat, but after using it for a few weeks now I find it sometimes quits working unexpectedly, sometimes doesn't show everyone logged in but does show what they're saying, and other assorted weirdness. I'm not happy with it and would like to get something else.

Can anyone personally recommend a good chat room that takes phpBB logins, or should I just bite the bullet and give them back their Java chat room?

Off the top of my head, you may want to try mChat, which seems to be kept fairly up-to-date.

(new) mchat is good.

but if you need realtime chat I'd recommend qwebirc. that can also be integrated on the menu so that it uses the member's usernames. as a bonus it scales well with many users where mchat etc. tends to generate a lot of extra traffic.

I use mchat and that is enough for me. Also try other ones but it didnt work on my forum.

I prefer BlueIMPs Ajax Chat (Google "Ajax Chat"), if not then I like php free chat. php free chat is much harder to integrate but it is possible. Anyway, Ajax chat is the best

mchat. Great support and updated ALL of the time. Check github for all the updates that are done quite often.
