Getting Involved?

Want to chit chat about anything, do it here ... posting here won't increase your post count (or shouldn't!). Please do not post any "phpBB" specific topics here unless they do not fit into the category above. Do not post bug reports, feature or support requests!

Do not post bug reports, feature or support requests! No really... Do not post bug reports, feature or support requests! Doing so will make Bertie a very sad bear indeed. :(

Maybe a few general ways you could help. :)
  1. Helping out on the forums. Of course only answer a question if you know the answer.
  2. Creating modifications and styles for the community. These really help people and makes phpBB better.
I guess it depends on what you're good at, but here are a few pages that may be of interest:
$ git commit -m "YOLO"

You can look at the tracker and either verify bug fixes or submit patches for unfixed bugs. This you can do for example by forking phpBB on github.

I would suggest you look for some basic PHP tutorials and learn PHP. That gives you all the basics you need for writing a MOD.

The way I learned about phpBB was by learning basic PHP and OOP, then tearing phpBB to pieces :)

I usually find the best way to learn is by destroying stuff :)
