how many people are involved in phpBB

Post by bejocund »

I was curious as to how many programmers are involved with phpBB 3?
And who decides the final release date?

http://www.phpbb.com/about/" target="_blank will answer how many people are involved (or have been involved) ;)

As for final release date, that will be decided by the development team in conjunction with the team leaders once we are happy with the state of the software

Only 5 developers (working on the side) for so much code?
Would getting more programmers on board help?

More developers does not equal faster development. This is a well known principle of software development.

The linux Kernel has hundreds of developers.. however it is a far larger project and each developer is in-charge of a sub-structure.. but More developers doesnt always mean chaos...

I've noticed recently that subBlue (Tom Beddard) is posting phpBB checkins/updates on SourceForge, but is listed in the phpBB "Past Contributors"... :?:

** tis good to see several participants now contributing to the phpBB checkins and to see the volume of checkins increasing **
