Notepad

Post by BlitzBoards »

[quoted7b75="MobileBadBoy"]Pastes just fine in Notepad.

Not sure if that's fixed or not...I would "assume" it might be.[/quoted7b75]

When I try to paste it in Notepad, it says I don't have enough memory to do so. That's on a 1.5 GHZ Athlon with 50 GIGS and 256 MB RAM right after reboot with no other windows open. Go figure.

If you are running Win9x... then there is a 64k limit IIRC.

That isn't a problem with the notepad that ships with NT4/2k/XP... quite happily opened multi MB text files without probs... if a little slow.

IIRC, if Notepad couldn't handle it, then WordPad would open it.

Yes... but pasting > 64k of text in 9x notepad will probably cause it to give an "Out of memory error" as he said.....

Ah, missed the part about pasting. My bust - WordPad would [b34399]open[/b34399] if you were trying to [b34399]open[/b34399] a text file larger than 64k in Notepad.

It's the little things that get us into trouble. :P

Yes... but that's why sensible people use real texteditors like Textpad, Ultrapad, etc etc.
