Transparency problem

Post by letmeinforgodsake »

Hi

I use another forum which is using phpBB, and have noticed that when I upload an avatar, it gets changed ?

The image is no longer transparent, I tried to test this tonight here, but this forum has blocked access to Profile changes.

Has this already been discussed, I did a search and could not find anything

There's solid white on the background of the flowers. bad transparency.

An image can't change from being transparent to non transparent by uploading. Its all determined in how the file is made, not how its uploaded.

Then if this is true, why was it happening ?

I suggest using a non-interlaced transparent PNG-24 to make your images, however, I dont think phpBB allows the upload of PNGs through its upload system.
