As a administrator of a CVS version of phpBB2.1.x, I was wondering how far the developers are through the development. I dont want to know the release date - just a percentage done approximation.

Somewhere more than 70% and less than 100% ;)

Seriously two of the development milestones have been completed and all the major features but one have checked into CVS (and that is being tested here on area51), but there is the tidying up and tweaking left to do.

The stage that takes the longest is the final prepping for a final release ;)

Even though one could say that many of the features are in place, usually dev teams like using the product for a while until they are confident that it will perform to the user's expectations.

I would not wait on this release... I like to wait a long time and then be absolutely sure that once it is installed I will not have to worry about filing bug reports or making fixes ;)

Just curious, is the one under construction still, something to do with usergroups? :?

Actually there are at least two major features left to be implemented, plus a few other odds and sods, a possible redesign of the permission system, etc. etc.

I'd say more pre-beta to be honest ...
