Groove>> You can try it by combining the two 2.0.6 forums into one, then updating the one 2.0.6 forum into 2.2. (if I understand what you want)

This script by BartVB,
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=119777" target="_blank
has worked for users wishing to "combine" two 2.0.x boards. (It is no longer supported by its author).

This will have a better chance of working if you have no mods installed, and/or did not make drastic changes to your forums.

of course there will be scripts to convert... gah u guys are tough sometimes :P

depending on how much you have hacked your board will depend on weather or not the scripts available at release will work automaticly.. but since these scripts are easy to write im sure you will find all the help you need :)

I think you miss the real question, which was : "will I be able to merge 2 phpBB 2.0.6 board into a single phpBB 2.2 ?"

and like i said :) sure this is possible... ive joined several 2.x boards together... and ive also converted my 2.x board with tons of users, posts and hacks into 2.2(cvs) already as a test.. so although this for sure wont be an official script why would anyone try and mislead someone that it cant be done?

anyways... that really doesnt need awnsering... a quick look around this board and anyone can tell that these arent the friendliest people around ;)

If you want to muck around with the database, which is what will probably be required (I don't trust hacky scripts unless I write em ) then try phpMyAdmin, a great tool for MySQL administration. The GUI makes it a lot easier to play with the data and schema, which is somewhat of a pain through the standard CLI interface.

By the way - I'd start on the user tables, if I was trying this.
