You'll add a new generation of Emoticons in phpBB 2.2??

Maybe the users can contribute with new emoticons  8)

What's up with the current ones?

Smilies can easily be added and/or changed anyways :)

Correct.
Users will always be able to customize/distribute their own smilies, so thus the forum software should ship with just the smilies which are most generic, ie the ones which will mostly be needed for a typical forum.

For forums which require some special/extra smilie custmization, their admins can always customize to any extent they wish.

Even though there is no need for new smilies, there will probably be a couple new ones in the package :-)

I think this are rather nice but that could be a little bigger and could use an AA job.
But dont change the emoticons in shape. Just sizing them and anti aliasing would be appritiated. I dont use the default emoticons anyway but I just gave my 2 cents :)

Whats wrong with the size? Any bigger and they mess up the line height.

LoL :)
AA job (ok ut realy sounds stoopid) stands for AntiAliasing...
Softening the borders of smilies. 18*18 pixels would be a great size Image
