Will there be a "warning level"-feature

Post by dali01 »

Will there be a feature that allows moderators to give a user 1,2,3, or more warnings? Or set a warning level?
What I am looking for is something like the karma level, but something that only moderators kan change.

Well I expect with permissions you could easily adapt the karma system to a warning system and even have the events system act upon it. However you'd need ANOTHER karma system to add a warning level as well.
Images in sigs! please.

Hah :p You might as well just stamp INVISION over the phpBB logo. Warning level's are pointless.

Actually we don't think they based on our experience running phpbb.com for three plus years :D Hence why we've had a warning system on our internal (teams only) feature list for quite a while.

Very pleased to hear this! A warning-system is the ONE thing that's been missing, IMO.

warning system is not a new thing varios versions have been made in Vbulletin and in WBB and Invision

however it become an invaluable tool when it comes to moderating forums because it means that u can warn them instead of having to ban them straight away
this feature is useful for moderators that do not have access to ban users via admin panel

Yes, invision does have it, but i personally dont like the way it's implemented (thats coming from helping a friend administrate their board).

The way phpBB will implement it (hopefully! :)) should be much more useful, not only for us (the phpBB Team), but for other users of their own boards.
