About file permissions during upgrade.

Post by user99 »

During fresh install, as i remember we need to set lot of file permissions. Do we need to do same during upgrade also.

During database_update.php, no such question was asked.

Though my upgrade went OK, I get this error at bottom of my page

Fatal error: ./cache/ is NOT writable. in .../includes/acm/acm_file.php on line 98

IIRC in phpBB3 it is the images/avatars/upload directory which needs 777 not sure the whole avatar directory needs it ....I know the install only check the images/avatars/upload folders permissions

I went through an install, and the screen said that cache, files, and storage were writable. However as soon as I saw the screen I realized that I had forgotten to change permissions. Proceeded anyway just for the heck of it, and sure enough the installation failed. After I changed the permissions R7 loaded.

This would be on a WIMP configuration if that makes any difference.
