I dont know why a simple captcha thing has to set the whole phpbb3 project to a stop
my idea would be, use random captcha systems
and release! the goal was to release phpbb3 in oktober now we are a half year further and phpbb3 is not released
ofcourse, if its not done then you cant release
but to put whole phpbb3 on a hold for a captcha problem that is sick
I hope you can do something with my idea to randomize the captcha system..

Captcha is ALWAYS random...

The problem was that spambots could read it anyway. This has been already solved, I think they are fixing last bugs...

I think this part only slowed the development a few days.
I also don't understand where you got the idea that RC was to be released in october.
Anyway, too late to complain now...

It was not "put on hold" as you put it... There was never any schedule release date (and still isnt) so i dont see how the release was put on hold because of this.... it was simply being worked on more before RC1 is released ..... as for slowing down the release? ... maybe .... but it certainly wasnt put on hold... because the captcha wasnt the only outstanding issue anyway

well the expected date was on oktober
it isnt a problem for me even if you would do 4 year over a final release
but at least let us know someone is working on it
a list of things that has to be done would be nice (and ofcourse things that already has done)
