Godfather is "padrino". "The Godfather" movie was translated into "Il padrino". He's the one who accompanies the husband-to-be in the wedding.
"Compare" is more pal, friend.
Cugine: a young toughguy looking to be made. (registerd who is often online?)

Cugino. "Cugine" is female cousins.

Anyway this version is better than HoL's one (capo = chief, cafone = unpolite person), though it's funny to see how hardly-existing Italian words are used abroad... I assume the ones who brought mafia up there were quite ignorant...

how many times can you write "you will be assimilated" and "resistance is futile"? i don't believe borgish is rich enough even for the most rudimentary board (on second thought, if you can utilize a lot of 7/9 images, it might be worth it...)
however, yoda-speak can interesting be.

2c only my.

Actually, If I'm not mistaken, even though the Borg speak English, they have a different Font/Writing that's not English at all… shouldn't be hard to make that change… just change the font to Borg :)

BTW, it's You have received a warning, You will now be assimilated, Resistance is Futile.

There's only 10 kinds of people,
those that read binary and those who don't.

Here's the list of language packs that already have authors lined up.

Both German and German[Formal] already seem to have maintainers.

Well, to give some feedback from the maintainer of the German packages:
as John already mentioned: the translation on the German packages has started severl months ago. By now, we have a nearly completed translation for Beta 5 in the informal "Du"-variant. This will undergo some quality checks within the next two weeks before it will be made public on phpbb.com (after all, the international download section will be for future releases of phpBB and not for the current beta). A current release is available on phpBB.de.
Having released the informal variant, we will start with the formal one. We have decided for this two step approach for several reasons: the informal variant is the most common used in Germany. At the end we want to have two high quality packages with one common base. Since QA is the most time consuming part of the translation process, we started with one package. Be sure to get a high quality package for the informal version about a week after RC1-release and the formal one about a month later. And don't forget: phpBB 3 is still in Beta stage :-)

Well, as stated before, I could give you a pretty good headstart... All that's missing in my tl8 is the ACP.

Thanks for your offer. But we will started based on the "Du"-variant since we want to ensure that the wordings are the same in both versions. It doesn't make sens to use different translations for terms like ACP etc. since this will make local support much more complicated.
