Why watch paint dry when you can visit area51 and experience the thrill-a-minute of droning, incessant, highly detailed analyses of the shortcomings of phpBB as an OSS product and project?

On second thought, there's nothing more fun than watching Monday morning quarterbacks make it to the Superbowl.

LMAO... I just read this for the first time...

Area51 @ phpBB.com
phpBB's testing ground of bleeding edge developmental code

Sorry guys, if it's going to take 5 years to get a release out, I would think about changing that tag line a bit. :D

Cheers,

Garry

Why?
It means effectively that this site is using the most up to date code, which it is.

In your opinion I guess.

If you're not happy with the way it's going, griping about it isn't gonna make it go any quicker.

I didn't think that I was griping... I will have to check myself.

BTW, I am not the only one who is unhappy. There are hundreds, maybe thousands. Nobody seems to care though.

I really don't think the development team will care two jots if you aren't happy. Its not like you are a paying customer, they do all this work for us to produce the best forum software available anywhere and its free. Why have you the right to complain?

Define "don't care." Or if you prefer, define "do care." Be realistic. I'm genuinely interested.

I think phpBB 4.0 should be kept a secret until it is a RC. That way, they can avoid all the hype caused by its suspenseful prelude.
