Translation of Mini Franki: substitute the word "release" for "leave".

But, I must say I realllly miss having the Bug Tracker to keep up with how things are going. It makes the waiting a whole lot easier when we can kinda peek at the progress (not that I even know what a lot of it means, lol...but I'm trying to learn). I realize its no one's fault but it sure sucks for everyone involved. I hope they are able to get it all fixed soon and I really hope none of their hard work was lost.

None of their hard work is lost… it's all kept in a CVS and because of that, it's on a lot of computers, so it would be almost 100% impossible to lose/destroy work on phpBB3.

The main issue here is hopefully they have a full backup of phpbb.com… and how recent is it? a few posts could be missing… of course depending on how it turns out.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Im praying, that phpbb.com will be back soon.
Its a few days now.

There were 20 bugs in the Tracker wenn phpbb.com got down.
Maybe there are 40 waiting for subscribing to the tracker.
Maybe there only 5.

We dont know.
But fact is, that the bug count was low, and wont be much higher when the tracker is back.

So my guess is really, that RC1 comes this month.

But its only a guess.
Maybe it will be end of april or something like that.

And the devs wont give us a hint when it will be :P

If you look at the CVS checkins, poor dhn is really missing his bugtracker.

This will definitely delay the next release, as I'm sure that there will be quite a few new bugs that will be reported when the site comes back online, which will then have to be fixed (providing that they are indeed bugs - I'm quite willing to bet that there will be some issues reported by users who are using this site now that the main one is down, that will think something's broken when in reality it does work but not the way they were expecting (aka "support requests")). This will further delay any release.

I reckon that the next release may have been released by now had it not been for the RAID array failure, judging by the dev team's progress just prior to the failure.
Life's a game. Just very badly programmed.

Well, if you really look at the CVS, everyday is a new Daily Snapshot (latest is 15th March 2007 22:30 GMT+2), so I think devs are still working on it, aren't they?

WhiteWolfSix,

The daily download from CVS available is not a token of accomplished developer activity, the commits in the CVS stats is.

the more bugs are killed now before RC1, the less bugs we all have to change manually after we all convert 2.0.x to RC1.

 Well, I was deeply hoping that they're working on it, but without bugtracker it is difficult, I know.

Well, not really. Two commits yesterday, one today.
They're either:
1) working on something else;
2) taking some unexpected (and maybe not really wanted) day off.
I understand they can't do much fixing with the tracker out.
Let's hope...
