Spam Bot Free?

Post by gobbly2100 »

I have just read on the forum that PHPBB3 has benn totaly built from the ground up so I am wondering if that means it will deal with spam alot better because as every PHPBB veteran user knows, Spam is the biggest problem.

Alternativly is it only a matter of time until PHPBB3 gets hit with spam just like PHPBB2?

How? Use a captcha mod or make your users register. If you think about how that spam takes place there's no way for the code to determine its spam if you don't use a captcha or something... Otherwise its just like someone has legitimately submitted data...

All it does is fill out the <form> information and then POST submit it to the whatever.php file and then phpbb is like "okay... posting"

I call for an IP check. Both of gobbly/mrix's posts are with 2 minutes of eachother and they are both in the same thread with basically the exact same comment! !!!!!!!!!!
