Assigning include
i just wanted to know how to assign an include on a theme...
Re: Assigning include
Are you talking about a style theme? If so you don't have to worry about includes at all...
unless you mean a template?
unless you mean a template?
Re: Assigning include
no... i mean using phpbb's template class... something like $template->assign_include or something

Re: Assigning include
1) No support
2) You don't have to assign it an include.
3) Just use the built in template PHPINCLUDE function, or the <!-- include whatever.html --> function in the template.
4) Your avatar is horrible.

Re: Assigning include
2) alright then, if you need it in the php page, do this:
Code: Select all
include($phpbb_root_path . '/directory/mypage.' . $phpEx);

Re: Assigning include
hol, i think your first answer was better, it just needed some elaboration:
put the file name you want to include in a template variable, say FN, and then in the html file use:
<!-- INCLUDE {FN} >
disclaimer: i didnt try it myself, i just think it'll work.

Re: Assigning include
Well... that will work for some items, but it really depends on how you are using it.
In my first example, that would work GREAT for other HTML pages/parsed pages.
But my last example is for if you need to work with functions from another PHP file BEFORE they get parsed.

no... i mean like how to assign an include to <!-- INCLUDE something --> so that way it will include a template file for the correct module...
