This is a phpBB3 board. They are talking about the main board at http://www.phpbb.com/. It uses phpBB2 and they will offer phpBB3 support there until they update the board to the final Beta releases or RC versions

Well, since it hasn't been officially released yet, wouldn't this be the pre-beta/beta version of it? :?

This is pre-beta (Alpha ).

It's not alpha, phpBB isn't doing alpha releases (or tags) for phpBB3.

Missing such a great opportunity to extend the developement cycle? A few months of alpha before beta1 wouln't hurt anyone I'm sure. :twisted:

This is a CVS version. As phpBB arn't doing Alphas it should go like this:

CVS => BETAs => Release Candidates => Final
