What about phpbb3 translation?
I would like to start the italian translation, but i don't know how the local files could change in future development of phpbb3.
Could it have any sense starting a new localization by now?

Re: new translation
Files will be changed but you can start translating and compare version of english language file that you translated with the newest english language file version.
phpBB3.pl - user-friendly Polish phpBB3 support
Re: new translation
Good luck for the translation, I have never been able to have a single correct answer about this...

Re: new translation
Comick,
Good luck with your translation work for the Italian language package for Olympus.
I know SHS`has posted in here not so long ago that the dev team does not recommend translation work to start before RC-1.
But such a translation project is about approx. 5,600 codelines - phpBB2 was about 2,200 codelines, so the job takes time.
If you have the right tools at your fingertips, it's no problem handling lots of codechanges in the CVS language files. To be very specific, you need a three way comparison file/folder tool/editor.
When you update your translated language files to the next CVS, you want to update to, you work with three files side by side as this :
1 (left) English file for old CVS
2 (middle) English file for new CVS
3 (ríght) Localised file for old CVS
Comparison of file 1 and 2 gives you the codechanges, and you simply move them from file 2 to file 3 and translate them in file 3.
I will send you a PM with a link to such a tool.
Personally I started on the Danish translation of Olympus yesterday.

I'm already translating Olympus in Italian
I started about a month ago and i think that you do not have to waste your time
I don't think you need to install a tool, because you can use the "language pack" panel of the Acp that show you any difference in the language packs you installedf you have the right tools at your fingertips, it's no problem handling lots of codechanges in the CVS language files. To be very specific, you need a three way comparison file/folder tool/editor.

Matraf,
"I'm already translating Olympus in Italian

- What an attitude - why don't you send Comick an invite to cooperate instead ?
You can't compare a ACP feature in Olympus with a tool, that has undergone development for years, specificly designed for coding jobs and coders.

It's all about working smarter, not harder.
